Are all male spin class instructors members of my church?

So I swam this morning. I did all pulling and did 2300 yards in about 39 minutes. I was supposed to swim longer but was exhausted and said to hell with it. The race is two weeks from this Saturday so I am in the home stretch.

Work was a bit slow today. The husband and I did a lot of scheduling for the beach house. We got the Republicans to commit to the Labor Day weekend. My parents are coming down for a weekend in July when their grandsons will be there. My brother the doctor and his wife and children are coming down in September for a weekend. The husband's assistant and wife and his one other close friend from work will be joining us for the 4th of July. The husband's best friend Ragnar and his boyfriend will be joining us on a weekend we have the boys. My mother-in-law, step-father-in-law, sister-in-law and the husband's niece and nephew will be there for the mother-in-law's birthday. The summer is pretty much filling up.

The Republicans are friends who I met through the Internet and are seriously two good ol' boys from the deep south. They were both formerly married to women like I was. Moved to NYC years ago and are just really great guys. They were at our reception back in October. They aren't really Republicans but the fact they are from the South and have the accents and all makes it easy to call them the Republicans. TL told me they are going to go out to California to get married. They have been registered as domestic partners in NY for as long as that has been legally available. I told him he could cross the Hudson and get the same thing but it is just called a civil union; you get the certificate and all the same rights and benefits as marriage.

Speaking of gay marriage I just have to say having been through a hetero marriage and now on into the second year of my gay marriage, I think a lot of the gays are not cognizant of the fact that with the rights and benefits of marriage there come obligations and responsibilities. If they just took a second to think it all through they may come to the realization that sometimes you should be careful of what you wish for.

Last night while eating dinner the Mets game was on and the husband could not take his eyes off #5 any time he was on the the screen. In case you were not sure #5 is David Wright- one of THE hottest men in baseball, hell in all of professional sports for that matter. If you don't believe me check out kennethinthe212's blog.

Took a spinning class tonight after work as my biking. The guy who ran it played music that made me turn to the husband ans ask "Are we in the Pavilion?" Hence the title of tonight's post. If you don't know what the Pavilion is and are one of my straight friends reading ask. If you are a member of my church you should know.

Having drinks tomorrow night with a broker and a kid who used to work on the desk but left to pursue his dream of being a rock star. The husband has a dinner. Will probably run tomorrow morning before work.

Dad, what's a hemaphrodite?

One thing I forgot to write about last night was the funniest question I have been asked yet by one of my sons. On the drive to FI from central Jersey, somewhere on Staten Island specifically, my oldest out of the blue asked me the title of this post. I replied to him that it is any organism that has both sex organs. I explained to him that I think a lot of snails are hermaphrodites. Someone else told me so are many snakes.

It appears everyone is going green. I read today how armaments makers in Germany (why does that not surprise me?) have devised explosives that are more environmentally friendly. Am I the only one who sees the irony in that? Seriously, couldn't one argue successfully that war is the ultimate harm one could do to the environment? Does that make the neutron bomb green? While we are on the topic of war and the military I read today on BBERG that homes near military bases (primarily of soldiers) are getting foreclosed on at roughly four times the national average. (I am not sure of that number, didn't write it down in my notes.) Where the fuck is Congress in dealing with this issue? I strongly feel that the people putting their lives on the line- whether or not you agree with the two wars we are engaged in- should have some security that when and if they get home the bank who gave them their mortgage and then sliced and diced it 100 ways to Wednesday, does not give them the shaft. Screw the people who bought the second home or were doing it to flip it or the ones who committed fraud.

If for some reason you decide to subject yourself to watching CNBC, the only person you need to listen to is Rick Santelli. I love the no bullshit attitude he has. Hell I love Rick Santelli- but only in a fraternal, non-sexual manner. While we are on the markets I have a feeling this tape is a lot like a side friction roller coaster but I do not know who the brakeman is or if there even is one. I saw a picture of August Busch, IV in the WSJ today. For someone who has Ted Kennedy proclivities he is actually pretty hot.

So, I was in the shallow end of the pool today- not a shocker to some of my friends, lol. On this business networking site I ran across a fraternity brother a few years behind me who had a mug shot on and he was freakin' cute. So I added him to my network, lol.

The boys are not going to be with us this weekend at the beach so it could end up being like the ancient Egyptian festival of drunkenness out on FI. It will definitely be like that when Mr. Barrett, Mr. Clifford and the boyfriend visit- really just for Mr. Barrett but I will live vicariously through his bonono-like activities.

Catching up

Last week was a whirlwind and I did not get a chance to blog at all, not that anyone missed it, lol. I got home from SF around 1 AM Thursday morning. Then I slept Thursday evening. Friday I drove down to central Jersey and picked up the boys and we drove straight to Sayville and caught the ferry to Fire Island. I just dropped them off at their mom's so they could have dinner with their grandmother to celebrate her birthday.

The trip to Sf ended with fireworks. We basically stormed out of there as the boss got into a head butting match with the passive/aggressive pricks who work out there. When I got onto the plane I looked across the aisle and who did I espy but the ex's best friend. She pretended not to see me and didn't look across the aisle for the rest of the flight so of course I was not going to let that pass. As soon as we disembarked I immediately called out her name and chatted with her- "How are the kids?" "What are you doing in San Francisco?" "How's the husband?" Do you go to San Francisco often?" I made it excruciatingly long and drawn out and painful for her. I of course followed up with en email first thing Thursday morning. Seriously, be an adult about it, don't pull that high school bullshit with me.

Thursday in the office was quite interesting as I had to converse a bit with the compliance department. I was ready for a nap by the closing bell.

I forgot there is one really fucking cute analyst out in our SF office and he actually engaged me in a very good conversation about the midcap space of the industry he covers. HE is really cute- did I mention that?

Some things I did note while out in SF were two absurdities that our government wasted money one. First our estimable House of Representatives passed a law allowing us to sue OPEC. Hello- how stupid are these guys??? OPEC is a cartel, not a private company! Good luck to anyone who actually tries to sue OPEC. Second, the judiciary determined that paper money discriminates against blind people. Are you fucking kidding me?? So do newspapers, comic books, paperbacks, etc.

The beach was great this weekend. The boys were totally excited when they found out their beds are memory foam mattresses. They were psyched. Friday night we got there and just chilled out. Saturday they went in the pool. I told a little lie. They asked if I could turn on the heater. I said sure but it will take some time to warm up. They jumped in anyways and spent the entire afternoon in the pool. Thing is- there is no heater.

MJ made the 5:20 ferry and I and my oldest picked her up. She looked great. We had a very nice dinner Saturday night and did not go out.

Sunday we all went to the beach and had a really fun time until some really loud and campy day trippers planted themselves in front of us. I had difficulty keeping an eye on the boys and MJ and the husband got really annoyed buy the group in front of us so we went back to the house and I "turned on the heater" so the boys could go in the pool. Then MJ, the husband and I went to low tea for a hour while the boys vegged out on Boomerang. We got back and made dinner. The boys were exhausted and I told them they were going to bed at 9:30. They argued they weren't tired at all but within 5 minutes of me putting them to bed they were out. MJ, I and the husband then watched Juno and I have to say that was a really good movie and there were some great lines. My favorite was pork swords. Ellen Page is not only Kitty Pryde but also a really great young actress. She was also in Smart People and was great in that as well.

We had a late breakfast this morning on the front deck of the house. My oldest must be going through a growth spurt because he was an eating machine this weekend. He had cereal and french toast and bacon for breakfast his morning. As we were walking to the ferry to go back the boys were walking the bogs. One of them took a dump on the boardwalk- which I cleaned up- that both boys determined looked like slugs and dead worms.

The husband took the train back later and we are going to grab dinner at our favorite local watering hole. This week I'll definitely be better about posting.

I hate flying

We opened the beach house this weekend. Both of us are very happy with the place and the kids loved it. The owner did a good job cleaning the place up and putting in a new bathroom with a very cool shower. I took pictures because my family has been asking what it looks like and I also sent some to Mr. Barrett and Mr. Clifford so they'll have an idea for when they come up to visit us in August. Thing is though Yahoo had a 10MB max on messages you can send and I only sent them about a third of the pics I have. We got home pretty quickly which was not a surprise since this coming weekend is the official start of the season which means traffic will suck and not in the good way.

I packed kind of quickly for my biz trip leave bright and early for tomorrow morning. I have a 7 AM flight and the husband is dropping me off at the airport before he goes into work.

I am debating bringing my laptop so I can write for my blog out there but will most likely not do so. I did pack all of my gym stuff so I can continue my training while out there. There is a Shequinox right across the street form the hotel and the hotel has a deal with is and I checked it out on the web and it has a pool.

This coming weekend we have the boys out at the beach so I get to start my semi-monthly traversing of Staten Island.

Pretty tired so that is about all I have or want to write for now. I land Wednesday at 11:58 PM- should make for an interesting work day Thursday. If something strikes me I may actually just log on from work and jot notes and/or post.

The camarones weren't the only hot things at the restaurant

So according to some people we are only in the eye of the hurricane of this current credit meltdown/financial mess. I would concur. Funny how last week the Treasury secretary was saying the worst is over and no he is saying the tone is improving. Mr. Bernake exhorting banks to keep raising capital also raised my eye brows. If you look at the balance sheet of the Fed you will see the banks are into them for serious money. This debacle is not over by a mile. I think within a year we might be looking to actually go long real estate.

Okay, I was wondering, I am a gay guy. I go to bars. I wash my hands after I take a whizz. Why? If I were single and going to gay bars why would I wash my hands? Isn't the whole point of going out to touch (and possibly more if one is lucky) a dick? I mean I know where mine has been and if it is clean or not...

We open the beach house we rented this summer tomorrow morning. I am psyched. We will be getting on the road early. The kids will be psyched, they love the beach.

Last night I was down in Princeton for a school function for my oldest and I totally played the role of embarrassing parent for an eleven year old. His mom laughed and said he definitely won't be happy with you.

The boss and I fly out Monday morning bright and early for our trip to the left coast. I hate flying but the bar won't be open at 6 AM. Thankfully I had the right person book my flight and I got upgraded to first class so I will be able to have my obligatory vodka on the rocks that early. I even get breakfast.

The gym tonight was good, there were quite a few new hotties who get nicknames: Cumberland, Fisher and Antonio Jr. Go to my gym and you might be able to meet some of them.

We then went out for dinner to the local Mexican place. Two groups of guys came in after us. One group was of indeterminate orientation but hot and fun to look at. The other was definitely made of guys who go to our church.

Notes I forgot

So I only forgot three things from yesterday. TechDirt is a blog I like to read because they have a lot of pertinent info related to a large portion of today's markets.

I was glad to see the Vatican vindicate all the X-Files fans by saying it is within Catholic doctrinaire to believe.

I am a big fan The Sarah Connors Chronicles, the first two Terminator movies, Asimov's books and of the Dune series of books even the ones not written by Frank. The idea that machines could one day become sentient and rule us fascinates me in an odd and somewhat macabre way. So any time I see an article on thinking machines or robots doing nearly human things I usually email it to a bunch of friends exhorting we need to be prepared for the day when machines turn against us and out us under the yoke. Believe it or not there has already been a human killed by a robot. Anyways when I read about ASIMO (created by Honda) conducting the Detroit Symphony Orchestra I thought it was very cool. Again though we all need to be prepared for the day we have to fight the oppression of our machine overlords and I just hope there are as many hot guys as Brian Austin Greene around to help.

Much like real women have curves I was informed by the husband that real Cuban meals have rice and beans. I am not a big fan of either especially the beans part. I am actually not a fan of legumes of any sort except for this one meal I had that was a warm lentil salad with goat cheese.

This morning I went to the gym in the building. Ran into a kid I worked with two jobs ago. He is in my building and member of the gym too- he just joined but I digress. As I was getting dressed this cute guy in a blue sleeveless tee walked in to the locker room. I noticed him but didn't turn my head. I walked past him out of the locker room and he took his shirt off revealing a HOT body with very cool ink. I stopped and did a double take. The kid who used to work with me caught me and laughed.

There was a great editorial today in the WSJ about immigration by Mr. Riley. As a third generation shanty Irish guy I totally agree with the anti-immigration pundits are directing their anger at teh wrong ones- the immigrants want to be Americans. It's the leftist, elitist pundits who don't want to make a value judgement that should be deported.

I noticed that Hoboken is actually having an international film festival. Hell can anyone host an international film festival these days? Don't get me wrong, I love living in Hoboken but seriously- an international film festival???

I forgot my damn notes

I write little notes to myself throughout the day when an idea for this strikes me. I had a whole notepad page full of jottings. But I forgot it because I had to get to the pool after work because I slept in this morning. I got home after swimming- which I got to do with the husband- and changed and started looking for my notes. I am pissed because I had some pretty good stuff. I'll try to recall some of it and then put the rest on tomorrow.

The other hot married guy was on the bus this morning and he got a haircut and is going for that studied indifference look. It's supposed look like he doesn't really care about it but it is too mussed up with actual thought. Looks good on him actually.

There was also this hot scruffy looking guy. Pretty sure he is not a member of my church but he's a good looking guy and I've seen him waiting for the bus twice now this week.

The new kid in the compliance department. I think he goes to my church to quote JP. He is cute, always well dressed and has what I would call a hair style that screams "I like men!" I have no concrete evidence and his name is kind of gay. You know how some names- like Jared- just sound gay? He has one but it is not Jared.

I have a bit of a peeve when it comes to phone etiquette. The outside line rang today and I picked it up. The person on the other end after I answer stating the name of my company says "Who's this?" all snotty-like. So of course I respond "who's this, you called here." He replies with the name of one of the other traders. I tell him that is not possible since I am looking at said person. Then I put him on hold and tell said person there is a call for them. Turns out it was the person's father. HA- so much for parents teaching good manners.

One thing that made me laugh out loud was reading about a government minister in India who (I am paraphrasing) said if Americans lost enough weight so they weighed the same as middle class Indians there would not be a hunger problem in places like Africa.

On the economic front yesterday retail sales were released and they wer a bit better than expected. Then this morning an economist at LEH came out and said that if you excluded the sales and pre-release sales for Grand Theft Auto that they actually were only in line to slightly worse. Apparently video game sales accounted for 0.2% in the number. Hard to believe but the guy did the digging and published it so he has to be fairly confident.

There actually is a Church Of Jediism in Wales. I read today about a man who- shockingly- got drunk, dressed up as Darth Vader and attacked them. I believe he got community service but no jail time. I googled it and there is website. If they don't care about gay marriage I think I may join but I would secretly subvert them from within and turn it into the Church of Sithism (that word definitely won't pass the spell check).

This weekend is busy for us. We start our big gay summer out on Fire Island. So we have to pack up all of our crap and truck it on out Friday night. I have no clue what kind of the schedule the ferry is on. I also have to pack for my trip I leave for on Monday morning. The boss and I are making our quarterly trip out to our San Francisco office. I'll be gone until very late Wednesday night. It's going to screw up my training schedule but it's my career.

Our friend MJ is coming out from London to spend Memorial Day weekend with us and the boys at the beach. She and the husband have been friends for years. I met her for the first time last summer when she was in town. We got to talking about where we grew up and we realized MJ and I grew up in the same town and my dad was her high school principal. She and I now talk all day on IM. So, this summer when we take the boys up to see my parents and take them to the state fair she is going to make the trip from London and we are going to give the husband the grand tour. The three of us are also going to take in a concert, the triple crown as she calls it. We will be seeing Journey, Heart and Cheap Trick in one show.

I think I hit all of the major points, if not I will add them to the next post.

Externalities are only good from an academic p.o.v.

So the earthquake in China is going to end up with a really bad death toll. When I read about it last night my degree in economics kicked in right away and I started thinking okay, get long construction stocks and material stocks such as cement producers. That is thinking as an economist; an externality is an event that creates huge economic benefits over time but does nothing good from a societal prospective- that is not the full, professional definition but close enough. Probably the largest and best example of an externality is the Black Plague in the 14th century. It killed off somewhere between 30 and 60 percent of Europe's population and ended up giving rise to free market capitalism. The earthquake will destroy families and peoples lives but an economist looks at it as ok, now the Chinese will have to rebuild and that will engender more economic activity. A cynic may look at it that way as well.

Can we agree the whole root of the current credit mess is declining home prices? Good then what you need to know is that with over 2/3 of U.S. cities reporting home price declines then this mess is not over until they stop going down even though our Treasury Secretary says all is well. Even Mr. Bernake admitted today that financial markets are less than normal which is why he is now extending the TAF until eternity. Hell, look at MBI. They are most likely going to lose their triple A rating soon. They have been less than stellar in their decisions lately. They raised several billion dollars they were then supposed to shore up their insurance subsidiary but they have not yet. They got mad at Fitch for saying they are in trouble so asked Fitch to stop rating their instruments and won't provide them with the data to anymore. Are they now going to ask Moodys too ass well since Moodys is now saying the same thing as Fitch? Once they do lose the trip A rating that will start a whol new wave of mark to markets on the down side and this summer will be an echo of last summer.

While still on the markets, am I the only one who has an issue with the government abdicating its role in law enforcement? Teh government makes the laws and enforces them and sets punishments. But these days that is where it stops. They have allowed for profit companies to take over the prison system. I am all for free market capitalism but I have an issue with this matter. It is a big pussy move in my mind on the government's part to make the private sector do the dirty work.

The husband tells me I should not wear polo shirts to work before Memorial Day. I am not sure where in my membership hand book that rule is and have ignored him a couple of times already.

Is it just me or does David Carr or Ian Kennedy get you all hot and bothered? Speaking of hotties, the data services guy was in the office today and he started chatting with me about stocks, lol. I didn't look at him just watched my screens and carried on the converstion mainly because he was standing and if I looked at him I'd have been staring right at his package, lol.

Today's lunch was very expensive

Today was my one and only golf outing. Golf is a large part of Wall Street culture. Personally I can think of a lot of better things to do. I started going to this one when I was working at a hedge fund and making serious cake. I felt instead of always being the guest it would be a lot more fun to be the host and that way I could suffer through a day on the links with people I liked and not have to bullshit about business the entire day. So I picked this one because it actually happened to be the first one to come across my desk and it was hosted at a country club 5 minutes from my first marital residence. I invited 3 friends and we had a blast. I have pretty much kept two of the three originals and the other spot has changed many times. This year I only had one of my originals, a former co-worker and a repeat from last year. The thing is though it got rained out. The former co-worker, call him BP, was coming up from Philly so he was pretty much in transit when I got the email saying it was only going to be lunch and cocktails. The original, call him RM, was on his way from Princeton so he too was in transit. The repeat from last year, AJ, called the club, was told no golf so went to work. AJ is done, no longer gets the nod mainly because he didn't even bother to call me and say he was cancelling. BP and RM are definitely good to go next year and think my bond manager friend will be the fourth.

The bar in the club house was opened at 11, so BP and I had some beers whilst waiting for RM. He got there for lunch and we had some more beer and a very nice lunch. I told RM to eat a lot since I had paid for everything and wanted to make sure we got our money's worth. RM also happens to be a golf pro and evens out my complete and utter ineptitude at the sport. I have known him for sixteen years. His ex-wife is best friends with my ex-wife- go figure. At lunch he mentions he saw the ex at his son's First Communion this weekend. He asked if she is marrying Bob the Builder. I told him not that I know of but it would be a huge economic boon for me if she were to marry him. He said he bets they are married within a year- I told him from your lips to God's ears.

I didn't get to swim this morning but did bike after getting home at 3 PM and taking a nice nap with the lids on the bed. The husband got home and we went to the gym. Monday is definitely hottie night there. We got into a disagreement about this one- he's called gray sleeveless tee- as to whether or not he goes to our church. I say yes and the husband says no. But the husband was also wrong about our neighbor across the hall so I am right. Will swim tomorrow morning to make up for today's missed swim.

I was supposed to go out for beers and wings Thursday evening with a bunch of my fraternity brothers but that has now changed and I now I will be getting a lot of shit from them. Tonight when I was talking to the boys, my oldest told me he has a D.A.R.E graduation ceremony Thursday night at 7 down in Princeton. I told him of course I'd bee there and asked when did he find out about this. He replied yesterday. I said to myself, "Self, he did not find out on a Sunday." I did not want to point out the flaw in his logic because I think it is great he did the D.A.R.E program in fifth grade and want him to realize both his mother and I don't want him abusing drugs.

One can stand up in a basement

So yesterday we were up early and off to the U-Haul in Jersey City. They didn't have a ten foot truck they could give us enough time on so they gave us a fourteen foot truck instead that we could drop off out on Long Island. I then took the entire large storage space and put it into the truck. The husband and I then had a light lunch. Off I went to his parents house while he went to Queens to meet his mom and step father to look at outdoor furniture for their expansive deck.

I wasn't stopped going into the Lincoln Tunnel but was before I entered the Midtown Tunnel. The officer asked me for my license and to step out of the truck. He then asked where I was going, what was in the back of my truck and to open it for him. He then handed me back my license and thanked me.

After I bypassed the security system I went to what I was told was the basement. Ok, for me a basement is a place you can stand up in; the place I was in was not a place I could stand up in so it is a crawl space. After hitting my hand the third time and getting a gash on my shoulder from the circuit box I texted the husband explaining the difference between the two.

We then took the husband's parents out for an early Mothers Day dinner. Then we came home and crashed.

This morning we woke up at 9 AM in a panic because our race started at 10. We quickly got ready, grabbed coffees and got downtown to the race starting line. We met JP there and checked out the hotties and there were several- blue shirt (who the husband thinks is juicing), the two boxers, the white and red tank (who was really hot), Superman and the Irish setter.

I finished with 39 minutes on the clock, the husband was behind me at 41 and change and then JP at 42 and change. The funny thing is they were handing out red carnations to the women for Mothers Day and JP was given one- hahaha.

We then walked back and stopped at Dunkin Donuts for more coffees.JP had a great line I had never heard before about this guy who was sitting in front of DD "I think he goes to our church." The follow up is "But does he kneel in the pews?"

We are going to go to the Sunday night beer blast at the Eagle. We had a nice nap and are rested and ready to have a few drinks.

HoHa 5 mile race

Last night I had a business dinner in Hoboken with guy who used to live in town before h moved out to the 'burbs. We ate at a well known place in town called Leo's Grandevous. Leo's has been around for a long time and is a shrine to Old Blue Eyes. the last time I was there for a meal was about sixteen years ago. The place has not changed other than a fresh coat of paint. I couldn't believe that the menus still had the same prices as 1994. Then we went to an old hang out of mine. The owner was there and he had not changed. Actually he had; the helmet is still hot but the jersey is shot. He actually had been a minor soap opera star. Now he is just like any other Hoboken bar owner. The song Glory Days came to mind for some strange reason.

We don't have the boys this weekend so we are going to consolidate our storage spaces and move a bunch of stuff out to the in-laws basement. I will be driving the U-Haul truck tomorrow out to Sayville. Then we will be having dinner with the in-laws for Mothers Day.

Sunday we are doing a warm up for the triathlon. We and JP signed up for the race. JP is worried won't do well but I told him the point is to finish the race not win it. He picked up our packets for us today. We were going to go out tonight but is has been a long week so instead we'll just sit in and watch BSG. Ragnar asked us to join him and his boyfriend at The Night of 1,000 Stevies but we passed.

There is a cute guy in the office. He works in the HR department I think and has something to do with compensation. I noticed for the first time he has serious junk in the trunk.

My new $17,000 sunglasses

Sunday I did something I usually don't do- run outside on the road instead of on the treadmill. The husband and I went different ways and then plotted the rauns out on Gmaps Pedometer. Mine came out to 6.4 miles in a hour which I am happy with. If I can get a sub 20 minute swim and 45 minutes on the run I hope to break two hours on the race.

After the run we ordered sushi. I was writing when the delivery came to the door. I had taken my shirt off to cool and answered the door to get dinner. The delivery guy just chuckled the entire time and the husband said he was checking me out, lol.

I read yesterday about this guy who got trapped in a piece of machinery at the plant, shook his cell off his belt, slipped his shoe off and dialed 911. That is dexerity- for you old school AD&D players that would be an 18.

In case you missed it in the WSJ editorials yesterday, apparently a former Dartmouth professor is suing the university and her former students because the students had the termity to question all of her ideas. I think I really liked the piece because it used the words heteronormative and ecofeminism.

I was thinking about starting a cult until I read about how the one National Geographic did a special on got arrested today for possibly having illegal sex with his younger members.

I lost my Oakleys a few weeks ago, my guess is one of the guys who has worked on my car recently. So I need new ones and I have a credit card with all of these points built up on it. So I used some for a new pair of Oakleys. The thing is I had to use 17,000 points. I get a point for each dollar I spend effectively costing me $17,000 dollars.

The more I read about the BAC acquisition of CFC. Senator Schumer basically gave BAC an out by publically saying they should reconsider the price they are paying. I believe BAC will walk away from the deal.

So I saw a whole different segment of the gays last night when I went to Musical Monday at Splash with JP and his brother who is straight. I am not a musicals person in any way what so ever and don't have many friends who are, so really didn't get the whole jist of it but I know it meant a lot to JP and it was fun. I think the best part was when I totally shocked JP and his roommate (who is also in the theater biz) by being able to name one scene on the screen as the musical Thoroughly Modern Millie. I also met a fellow member of the social networking site I am on but did not recognize him because he had buzzed his hair down- my guess is a #3 razor. I also had JP take my picture with the really hot shirtless waiter by convincing him I was an out of towner. HE asked where I was from and I told him Omaha.

I can ride my bike with no handlebars

So they lost yesterday in little league. It was a 9 AM game. The funny thing is my oldest told me the entire ride down that he didn't want to work in the snack bar with me. So the snack bar opened at 9:15 and we got I went to work when my 11 year old said he'd like to give it a try. Two hours later as we were finishing up he asked if he could do it again. The man how runs the snack bar told me about half way through that every kid says he doesn't want to and then has so much fun they ask if they can do it again.

On the way home as we were listening to channel 21 on SIRI there was a song by the Flobots that they boys have heard before and like to sing along to. They asked me to get it on iTunes and put it on their iPods. Funny thing is only my oldest brought his iPod this weekend.

We went to TGT after the game to get me a tennis racket and some tennis balls. We also decided to get a movie to watch for the night. Again my 11 year old derides the choice as boring and why do we have to watch it. The movie was The Seeker, think it came out last Christmas time and was not a huge hit. Anyhow, after we had dinner we sat down to watch it. Guess who got totally into it and thought it was a great movie? Yeah, my 11 year old.

The husband spent the day in the city with one of his two best friends. I asked if what he did and he told me they hit a bunch of art galleries. I asked if he bought anything which is currently a no no for him. His answer was probably. I don't know what that means and frankly am reluctant to ask him.

After the boys and I watched The Seeker they went to their bedroom and watched Cartoon Network. They asked if they could stay up until 11:30 and I said sure knowing that since they had been up at 7 there was no way they'd make it. The husband and I watched 300 again- seriously, we cannot get tired of the beefcake in that flick. Around 10:45 my youngest came out and said they were ready for bed.

This morning I got up at 7, got the boys up. My oldest and I got dressed and and walked down to the public tennis courts. We were the only ones there and had our pick of the courts so we took the driest one. We played until around 8:30 then walked to Dunkin Donuts to get breakfast for the four of us. I pretty much won the tennis and pointed it out to my son. He said it was because he brought his crappy racket not his good one. I started joking with him about it. Then he said really he wasn't even trying. Wow, talk about getting nasty, lol.

We had the last baseball game on my weekends. They lost in the final inning by two runs. Of course the weather was great- sunny in the high 60s with a light breeze. I knew it would be since I made sure Master Chief was wearing an UnderArmour shirt and my oldest had a thermal on. We don't see the boys again until Memorial Day weekend and then we are going out to the beach so I told their mom there is no way they are doing the 6 PM game the Friday of the weekend.

Iron Man the second time in three days is still good

So the ex was coming into the city to go so some show and offered to drop the boys off at 4:30 in Hoboken. Now always happy not to have to add an additional 100 miles to my truck mileage I of course agreed. I left work right at the closing bell to get home in time. She has done this once before but got there a hour after the espected time. This time however she made it within 10 minutes. Normally we don't have the boys two weekends in a row but I switched this weekend for next weekend because next weekend is Mother's Day.

We took the boys to see Iron Man. They loved it and the hisband enjoyed it as well. IT was definintely just as good the second time around and it may be one I end up buying on dvd because I am sure there are a lot of good scenes that were cut out. What I noticed this time is the director Jon Faveraeu also actually stars in it- don't know how I missed that Wednesday when I saw it.

It is supposed to rain again this weekend but I don't believe the weather predictions any more. So I have to drag my fat ass out of bed tomorrow and be on the road to make a 9 AM game. The plus side is I get to work in the snack bar. Then in the afternoon my oldest wants me to play tennis with him on the public courts right at the end of the block. So I have to find a tennis racket and buy some tennis balls. I suck at tennis. I am ok and enjoy squash and racquet ball but not so with tennis.

So, coordinated central bank activity and the Fed upping the size of emergency loans? Sounds to me like a big old tape bomb is coming next week. Also in case you were not aware and actually read through the non-farm payroll numbers, all government statistics are not to be taken at face value. The other thing that caught my eye was BAC not saying what they planned to do about the CFC debt once the deal closes in Q3. Normally when a company acquires another, the acquirer honors all debt of the acquiree. Kind of makes you wonder why BAC even bought CFC if they are not going to honor the debt and intend to keep only the good part and then let the rest fail, i.e. file for bankruptcy protection. Why not let if file to begin with then buy the good part you wanted to begin with? My guess is BAC got a tap on the shoulder form the Fed.

The other hot married guy was on the bus this morning. He has got the shaggy look going as well. And the husband pointed out he looks leaner than before which leads me to believe he is having an affiar- LOL!

My fifteen minutes of fame passed without my knowledge

So apparently yesterday the PATH trains shut down. That would have explained the huge lines for the bus at the Port Authority after Iron Man. What I did not notice was the news crew there with the camera. I had my iPod on listening to Vampire Weekend and was engaged in Brick Breaker. As I go to bed I see I have a text message from a number I don't recognize saying "You are on the 11 o'clock news!" I am thinking what old trick has my number and remembers my mug? I text back "Who is this?" Turns out to be one of my co-workers using his personal cell not his crackberry.

I am not a fan of reality television at all except for Ultimate Fighter and that is not just because of my own participation in MMA but also because there are a lot of hot guys on it, lol. Anyways, having read about American Idol today I think it is safe to say that show is about dead and I for one will be very glad. My fear is what will replace it? Speaking of reality tv- Farmer Wants a Wife- never watched it but holy shit I would like to see that farmer in the dell.

I read the D.C. Madam committed suicide. Yeah right! She knew all the powers in D.C. and what their sexual fantasies were. She threatened them but never followed through. I am not a subscriber to all conspiracy theories but this situation has ALL the markings of one and a cover up.
